Are you comfortable trying a square knot, bandaging a cut and cooking a cobbler? Looking for your next challenge? Did you know that leadership development is equally as important as rank advancement in Scouting? And as Scouts reach higher ranks, leadership plays a much larger role in their experience. Please consider the following opportunities! Oak Leaf (Council curriculum taught at the District level) is designed to be the first leadership course experienced outside of the Troop setting and prepare them for National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT). Next scheduled course:
National Youth Leadership Training or "NYLT" (National curriculum taught at the Council level). It is an intense 5 1/2 day outdoor leadership experience designed to prepare Scouts to become superior leaders in their unit (now) and in their future. Circle Ten Council offers six courses every year. 2019 Schedule:
National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience or "NAYLE" (National curriculum taught at the national level). NAYLE emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and selfless service, using the core elements of NYLT to help youth strengthen these skills. A reminder on action items: Now that our Fall fundraising efforts are completed, we are wrapping up our semi-annual campership cycle. The deadline to submit an application for a Fall 2018 campership is December 11th.
