This should come as no surprise…but our first troop meeting begins tomorrow (8/29), and to reiterate what Craig Parrish stated in an earlier email we also have a Troop Leaders Committee meeting as well!
Schedule as follows:
- 6:30 – TLC, all adult leaders welcome!!!
- 7pm – TFC (Trail to First Class) & Trail to Eagle, and those who get there early who aren’t involved in either of these help set up…
- 7:30 SHARP! – Scout meeting starts!!
- 8:30 – meeting ends, tear down and clean up
Always bring your scout book, and always remember to take it home with you! : )
Our SPL, J Kirchem, and his PLC have already put in many hours of work in training and planning/prep for the upcoming several months!! They have done some excellent work in beginning to come together as a team, and the goals for these next few months include:
- Developing a stronger “patrol method” theme within the Troop and our activities,
- Creating a larger emphasis on developing leadership skills, and teamwork with the Troop and Patrols
- Being more creative in our meeting agendas and locations
Our agenda for tomorrow night looks like this:
- Flag ceremony, (A10 warthogs)
- Quick outline of goals and objectives for the meeting (J Kirchem)
- Spirit Jug – explanation, and first use
- Flag Patrol activity
- Game (Apaches….if there is time, and the Troop has “performed”)
- Closing
Given the importance of the activities tomorrow, I will not be available for any Scoutmaster conferences; for those who wish to do Board of Reviews, please work with the other adult leaders. I will make a lot of time available for conferences over the next few weeks, I promise!
Play hard, do good, get muddy…”be prepared”, to be challenged!
YIS,
Charlie Patchen
