Election Details:
- We need a great turnout on Monday! We must have at least 50% of our Scouts in attendance for the election to be valid.
- Our OA Rep (Noah F.) will assist Mr Hayes (District representative) in coordinating and running the election process.
- Everyone please wear your Class "A" uniform
- Eligible candidates:
- Rank of at least First Class
- 15 days/nights of BSA camping over the last 2-year period (must include one, but not more than one BSA long-term camp of 5-nights/6-days)
- Actively participate in Troop activities
- Demonstrate Scout Spirit
- Adhere to the Scout Oath and Law
- Scouts may vote for some, none or all of the eligible candidates. The election is by secret ballot, so no one will know for whom you are voting.
- Please consider:
- The OA is not a popularity contest! Don't vote for a Scout just because he is your friend, or older than the rest.
- What really counts is his loyalty to the Scout Oath and Law.
- Who is a friend to all? Who is pleasant and easy to get along with?
- Who is cheerful, even when he has many tiresome jobs to do?
- Who has served your unit all year round, faithfully attending meetings and helping with service projects? Do you think he will continue his service in the future?
- Vote for only those you believe will continue in unselfish service to your troop. If you feel that no one is worthy, turn in a blank ballot.
- If you are new in the unit and do not know the candidates well enough to vote wisely, you may abstain by not turning in a ballot at all; this will not affect the final result.
- The OA is not a popularity contest! Don't vote for a Scout just because he is your friend, or older than the rest.
- All Scouts who receive 50% or more of the votes from the turned in ballots are elected.
Yours in Scouting (YIS),
Mr Patchen
